The Murrurundi Swimming Pool Swimming & Water Safety Instructor motto is “I swim and it’s my superpower”. This motto recognises the goal of our instructors to empower every learner with lifelong skills to enjoy the aquatic environment and use the water as a positive aspect in their life.

Experience and qualifications are not always necessary, as for the right candidate, this will be provided by Murrurundi Swimming Pool.

Essential Criteria

  • Swim Australia, RLSSA or AUSTSWIM award
  • Current CPR
  • Working with Children Check

Being a Swimming & Water Safety Instructors requires

  • A love of water – You will be wet (quiet often)
  • Ability to relate to kids – You will be working with kids (mostly)
  • Lots of energy – You will need to motivate learners (with enthusiasm and positivity)
  • Organisational skills – You will need to keep regular learner records to monitor learner progress

Additional Information

  • Swimming & Water Safety Instructors are required to work a rotating roster – over 6 days
  • Preference will be provided to those willing to develop a career across more than one facet of the industry. E.G: Swim Teacher + Life Guard / Swim Teacher + Customer Service
  • Staff are provided free use of facilities + discounts
